SUMMARY:Back To School Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of unexpected learning\, all in support of Refuge. \n\n\n\nBack to School is a fundraiser with a twist. Instead of classrooms and textbooks\, expect a series of lively\, engaging lessons on topics you definitely did not learn about in school. \n\n\n\nAcross the afternoon\, you will be invited into a mix of unconventional sessions designed to spark ideas\, challenge perspectives and get people talking. From life beyond our solar system\, to the “rejuvenation” craze of the interwar years and its echoes today\, to the art of baking the perfect cake\, each session offers something different. \n\n\n\nRefuge is the largest specialist domestic abuse organisation in the UK. Their services support thousands of survivors\, helping them overcome the physical\, emotional\, financial and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives. Their mission is to create a world where domestic abuse and violence against women and girls are not tolerated\, and where women and children can live in safety. \n\n\n\nTickets do not have a set price. Instead\, everyone is invited to donate what they can\, with 100% of proceeds going to Refuge. \n\n\n\nYou can drop into one session or stay for the full afternoon. Each lesson is interactive and discussion-led\, with space for questions\, sharing ideas and meeting others – all in support of a vital cause. \n\n\n\nEvent details\n\n\n\nDate: Saturday 11 AprilTime: 2.30-6pm (doors open at 2.15pm\, with lessons kicking off at 2.30pm. There will be a 15 minute interval)Location: SET Social\, 55a Nigel Road\, Peckham\, London\, SE15 4NPTicketing: Pay what you can  (100% of ticket sales donated to Refuge)

SUMMARY:Occupations of Uninhabited Space 02: No Data Plan with Miko Revereza
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a creative community resistance against the far-right narrative — from the ongoing atrocities committed by ICE in the US to the recent introduction of the classist and racist ‘Earn Settlement’ plan in the UK — and stand with migrants across the globe through an evening of film and conversations. \n\n\n\n‘How does an undocumented documentary filmmaker document themself?’ is a question artist-filmmaker Miko Revereza carries through his work\, which is largely informed by his experience living as an undocumented migrant in the US for over 20 years.  \n\n\n\nThere will be a screening of Revereza’s first feature\, No Data Plan (2019)\, an experimental travelogue of his train trip from Los Angeles to New York amid an escalating hostility against migrants in the country\, followed by an in-person discussion with the filmmaker and Kanlungan Filipino Consortium. \n\n\n\nEvent details\n\n\n\nDate: Saturday 11 AprilTime: 7pmLocation: SET Social\, 55a Nigel Road\, Peckham\, SE15 4NPTickets: Pay What You Can (£3-£10) \n\n\n\nAll proceeds of the event\, minus expenses\, will be donated to Kanlungan. \n\n\n\nBook tickets\n\n\n\nAbout the organiser\n\n\n\nOccupations of Uninhabited Space is a guerrilla screening series that stems from the necessity to stand in solidarity with migrant workers around the world.
