From artist studios and exhibition spaces to music venues and community projects\, our centres have always been about keeping creative space genuinely affordable\, inclusive\, and accessible in a city that constantly prices people out. \n\n\n\nWhile our buildings provide the structure\, SET has always been defined by the communities inside them. This exhibition serves as a snapshot of the work\, ideas\, and histories that have shaped our community over the last ten years\, bringing together a decade of artistic practice under one roof. \n\n\n\nSET Community Archive Display\n\n\n\nAlongside the exhibition\, explore our archive display celebrating the people and spaces that have built SET over the last decade. The display features a custom London site map by Daniel Gatenio\, mini sculptures of past SET centres\, historic SET ‘artefacts’\, and copies of our brand-new publication: SET’s Handbook for Opening Alternative Spaces. \n\n\n\nPop-up bar\n\n\n\nDuring the opening night on Friday 25 September (5-9.30pm) and throughout the Open Studios event on Saturday 26 September (2-8pm)\, our new ground floor pop-up bar will be open serving drinks. \n\n\n\nGetting here\n\n\n\n\nLocation: Camelford House sits on Albert Embankment\, right next to Vauxhall Bridge.\n\n\n\nTransport: A 3-minute walk from Vauxhall Station (Victoria Line\, National Rail\, and Vauxhall Bus Station).\n\n\n\n\nRSVP note\n\n\n\nEntry is completely free and open to all. Friends of Music and Life is a monthly community gathering for artists\, musicians\, writers\, and anyone looking for a friendly spot to get together\, play music\, and share ideas. \n\n\n\nOrganised by Mohamed Ghrab and friends\, each session offers an informal space to play together\, learn new songs\, explore global sounds\, and discover music in different languages. But it’s not just for musicians – there are no strict rules on what “counts” as taking part. You’re equally welcome to bring a notebook\, read a poem\, sketch in the corner\, tell a story\, or simply grab a drink and listen. \n\n\n\nOpen to all skill levels with zero experience needed. Feel free to bring instruments\, poems\, sketchbooks\, or whatever you’re currently working on.

Now\, for the first time\, we’re opening the building up to the public. Come wander through the studios\, meet the artists\, see what’s being made and get a feel for the huge community that’s taken over this 17-floor building. \n\n\n\nOur ground floor will also feature a bar open from 2-8pm serving drinks throughout the afternoon and evening. \n\n\n\nAlongside the open studios\, head down to the ground floor project space and café to explore two major anniversary features: \n\n\n\n\n10 Years of SET group exhibition: A massive salon-style group show featuring wall-based works by current and former SET studio members from across our decade-long history. \n\n\n\nThe SET Community Archive Display: Alongside the exhibition\, explore a display celebrating the people and spaces that have built SET over the last 10 years. The day is centred around a ticketed blitz tournament\, with food included. The rest of the day is free to attend. \n\n\n\nAll proceeds go towards supporting the running of the chess club and SET Social’s recovery following their temporary closure earlier in the year. \n\n\n\nThe line up is as follows: 2-4pm: free coaching for beginners and puzzle competition  – who can solve the most puzzles in 20 minutes? \n\n\n\n4-7pm: Ticketed Blitz Tournament with food. Friendly and competitive\, with 5 minutes on the clock and prizes for players of all abilities. \n\n\n\n7-9pm: Free play\, music\, and good times \n\n\n\nAbout the organiser\n\n\n\nPeckham Chess Club is a friendly\, social chess club with a weekly Wednesday night meet-up at SET Social in Peckham\, from 6pm until late.
