We grow vegetables\, herbs\, and flowers\, and care for the space with curiosity\, collaboration\, and kindness at the heart of things. \n\n\n\nSunday sessions are open\, informal\, and pressure-free. No gardening experience is needed and there’s no expectation to stay the whole time. DESCRIPTION:Our crit-circles run for an hour and a half where ‘readers’ will have time to share their work and receive feedback from everyone in the circle. 15 slots will open monthly\, with 7 ‘reader’ slots and 8 listener slots. While critique circles have traditionally retained a literary focus\, we open Exteriors up to artists working within other forms to come and share work. \n\n\n\nPlease note the 7 readers must email their work to elidaxexteriors@gmail.com a week prior to the event as they will be printed out (or shown in the case of visual works) to all attendees. This will help everyone visualize your work and will allow for better critique. \n\n\n\nWe want this crit-circle to be a welcoming environment\, please be mindful of others when providing and receiving critique. Our aim is to build a community of artists that build each other up. While we encourage constructive criticsm there is no place for abuse. \n\n\n\nHosted by Elida Silvey\, a Mexican-American artist living in London. DESCRIPTION:Designer Alice Aldis invites participants to explore overlooked everyday textures through clay.In this hands-on workshop\, you’ll create a decorative tile or coaster using air-dry clay and found patterns. Bring your own textured objects\, or choose from a selection provided. Together\, you’ll experiment with the often unnoticed surfaces that surround us\, pressing them into clay to form subtle impressions and decorative forms. \n\n\n\nAbout the Designer \n\n\n\nAlice Aldis is a multidisciplinary designer working across ceramics\, ornamentation and process-led practice. Her recent project\, Ordinary Ornamentation\, exhibited at Copeland Park in Peckham\, explores a shift away from traditional ideas of ornament. This event is about showing up\, learning\, and giving directly to support Palestinian people. \n\n\n\nThe programme will feature nine poets performing across three sets\, with breaks in between. Alongside the performances\, there will be a large book sale where attendees can donate and purchase books at low prices. DESCRIPTION:Join SET for one last gathering at SET Ealing on Sunday 31 August\, from 2pm to 7pm. This closing party is a chance for everyone who has been part of the journey\, including artists\, neighbours\, friends and visitors\, to come together\, share memories and celebrate everything the space has brought to the community \n\n\n\nSince opening in 2022\, SET Ealing has been more than a place to work. It has been home to over 100 artists\, a hub for collaboration\, and a platform for local groups such as the Caribbean and African Collective\, Ealing (CACE) and the Afghan Library & Peace Centre\, led by Afghan Academy International. These organisations have inspired\, connected and uplifted the community in ways that will resonate long after the doors close. \n\n\n\nThe farewell will feature an exhibition of work from SET Ealing’s talented studio holders in the main project space. The community spaces will also be open to highlight the contributions of CACE and Afghan Academy. Guests can enjoy food\, refreshments and good company as the space bids its final goodbye. \n\n\n\nNo tickets are required. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate the creativity\, connection and memories that have defined SET Ealing over the past three years.
