CAP’CHA
18 July 2024 – 4 August 2024
CAP’CHA: ᶜᵒᵐᵖˡᵉᵗᵉˡʸ ᴬᵘᵗᵒᵐᵃᵗᵉᵈ ᴾᵘᵇˡⁱᶜ ᵀᵉˢᵗⁱⁿᵍ ᶜᵃⁿⁿᵒᵗ ᴴᵃᵛᵉ ᵁˢ ᴬᵖᵃʳᵗ is a multimedia group exhibition curated by 何伊凡 Yifan He, exploring the trust and mistrust we place in technology and the history and networks that support its functionality. It is supported by SET, and generously funded by the National Lottery and Arts Council England.
Featuring works by Axe Binondo, Mac Andre Arboleda & Rollyna Domingo, Mark A. Hernandez Motaghy, Johnny Henson, and Jasmine Zhang 張夢嬌, CAP’CHA intends to create an autonomous space for defining and building technology and trust, thereby fostering possibilities for coexistence and collaborative tool development. The selected works examine surveillance in the wild, diasporic translocal servers and food serving, arbitrary colour accuracy and landscape photography, caring for a newborn AI, abstracting a digital pet, and tasting unconfigured flavours together. These diverse entry points are presented through video, video essays, video games installation, and photographic propositions.
The opening event on 18 July, 2024 (6 PM – 9 PM) includes a participatory food performance by Nitesh Tailor and a panel talk by the research duo Identity 2.0.
