Community Supper Club x Communal Clay @ SET Social
2 June 2024 @ 14:00 – 19:00
Join us for the first COMMUNITY SUPPER CLUB at SET Social!
Their first event is a collaboration with Communal Clay, including a pottery workshop + a 3 course meal:
– 2PM: 2-hour pottery workshop led by Communal Clay. The workshop will involve making decorative ceramic tiles which will be fired and glazed by Communal Clay after the event. They’ll be used to decorate the upcoming vegetable garden being built at Set Social this June.
– 4:30PM: Three course meal served in the garden, prepared by the CSC team and volunteers. The meal is a set menu designed by us to make the most of available seasonal food, including surplus and locally-grown produce. Food will be served to share across tables so expect to be seated with other people!
The event will wrap up around 7pm.
MENU + DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:
Below is the planned menu for the event, although we may make a few last-minute tweaks depending on available seasonal + surplus produce. The sharing menu is designed to cater for vegetarian and vegan guests, but unfortunately we’re unable to offer gluten-free alternatives. Please let us know of any dietary requirements at checkout, just to help us plan quantities etc, thank you!
STARTERS: Sourdough Flatbreads, tomato salad with pickled wild garlic flowers, lacto-fermented pickles, spicy aubergine dip and a herby-lemony infused oil.
MAIN: Whole BBQ fish, charred cabbage, smashed roast potatoes with labneh, and a broad+butter bean salad.
DESSERT: Fruit upside-down cake with infused cream
TICKET PRICING:
All Community Supper Club events are priced based on a sliding scale model meaning guests only pay what they can afford. We believe the joys of communal eating should be accessible to all, and that food systems should be built on solidarity rather than exclusivity, and the pay-what-you-can model helps us achieve that. There are 5 ticket options to choose from depending on your ability to pay, with a recommended ticket price at £20 as a guide, and a pay-it-forward option for those who can afford to, which helps us cover the costs for cheaper tickets.
Our events are 100% non-profit, and the recommended price is set to help us cover the cost of food and the workshop. Any money made on top of that will go towards funding future events.
Tickets available via outsavvy here.
