Continuing in Skin – Exhibition at SET Stage Gallery
20 February @ 19:00 – 22 February @ 22:00
Continuing in Skin is the second exhibition of the year by SET Stage Gallery. Created by Téa-Anya Sage Earle, the exhibition explores tattooing as ritual, archive, and memory, considering the body as a living record.
Presented at SET Social Peckham, Continuing in Skin traces connections between ancient and contemporary tattoo practices. Drawing on pre-colonial and Indigenous aesthetics and informed by ideas of collective memory, the exhibition examines how skin marking carries meaning across generations.
Through this lens, tattooing is approached not only as personal expression but as a method of remembering, recording, and transmitting experience, inviting a reappraisal of the relationships between body modification, skin, and recollection.
