Paratha Club – All We Imagine As Light
12 February @ 19:00 – 23:00
Paratha Club is a shared food and film night at SET Social, centred around comfort, conversation, and eating together.
Picture this: you arrive in Peckham in the early evening, the air warm with sweet incense and the soft glow of diyas flickering along the bar. You’re offered freshly made, stuffed parathas, served with butter, yoghurt, and a selection of Indian pickles. As you eat, you catch up with friends and settle in, full and content.
Once plates are cleared, a steaming cup of masala chai and a sweet treat follow. With chai in hand, everyone gathers to watch a film together—the perfect end to a soul-nourishing meal.

All food served is 100% plant-based.
Allergen information:

This week’s film
All We Imagine As Light
Payal Kapadia’s gorgeous fiction debut is set in Mumbai and follows three women whose lives overlap in small but meaningful ways. The film explores loneliness, friendship, and the quiet ache of wanting something you can’t quite name. Soft, absorbing, and dreamlike, it finds beauty in everyday moments—shared meals, late-night conversations, the city drifting by—making it a fitting choice for Paratha Club.

Organiser details:
Tava Rakh is a plant-based food business run by Mala Lal.
Tava Rakh means “put the hot plate on” in Punjabi—a phrase Mala’s mum would say, signalling the start of cooking (and tasty food coming!). Growing up in a Punjabi household, Mala was constantly surrounded by rich, indulgent Indian comfort food. For her, cooking remains a way to unwind, connect, and share warmth, nostalgia, and generosity through food.
