SET Stage Gallery – Point of Reference
23 March @ 12:00 – 24 March @ 18:00
SET Social’s SET Stage Gallery presents Point of Reference, an intimate and immersive installation by brothers Saiya and Yumaani Thomas.
Artists of Jamaican-Swedish heritage, the brothers’ practices meet at the intersection of culture, memory and identity. For this exhibition, the gallery is transformed into an installation set within their family living room. A deeply personal environment becomes the stage where heritage, culture and aspiration take centre stage.
By recreating a space that shaped their upbringing, the artists invite audiences to step into the environment that formed their shared point of reference. Personal history, artistic practice and cultural influence come together to create a setting that is both reflective and immersive.
Visitors are welcomed into a space where everyday domestic surroundings become a site for storytelling, reflection and creative expression.
