Sober Social: Monthly Peer Support Group
29 October @ 16:00 – 18:00
Are you thinking about your relationship with alcohol or other substances? Whether you want to cut down, take a break, or simply get some ongoing support, Sober Social offers a space to explore what feels right for you.
Sober Social is a free, monthly peer support group at SET Social in Peckham. It is a friendly, judgement-free space where you can talk openly, share experiences, and reflect alongside others who understand.
You’re welcome exactly as you are – whether you are completely sober, sober-curious, occasionally sober, or rarely sober. There’s no pressure to label yourself or aim for any particular outcome.
The sessions are facilitated by Dr Henry Aughterson, a medical doctor, community mental health researcher, and trainee therapist. As part of his work, he aims to create a calm, supportive space where everyone can feel safe, respected, and heard.
What you’ll take away from each session:
- Evidence-based tips for improving your relationship with drugs or alcohol – whether your goal is moderation, harm reduction, or total sobriety
- Insight and perspective from others’ lived experiences
- A sense of feeling heard and understood
- A gentle, realistic action plan for the month ahead
- An ongoing community of support you can return to
