Studio Membership

SET Ceramics is a small working ceramics space just a few minutes’ walk from Tower Hill. Alongside courses and workshops, the studio is home to a growing group of independent ceramicists developing their own practices.

Studio membership is designed for makers with some prior ceramics experience who want regular access to a shared workspace and the opportunity to be part of a wider artist community.

Memberships are allocated through a lottery system when spaces become available, helping us keep the process fair and open.

What membership includes

  • 12 hours of studio access per week
  • Wheels, hand-building areas, tools, glazing materials and equipment
  • Free use of studio reclaim
  • 220L kiln access*, with bisque and glaze firings managed by our studio technician.
  • 5 studio glazes and 13 coloured slips available to use
  • Your own storage shelf
  • Enrolment into our Associate Member’s Programme, giving you opportunities to take part in exhibitions, events and activity across SET spaces
  • Free membership to SET Social, our arts and social club

*Please note that due to being a small-scale studio, we only fire to 1240°C stoneware.

Studio fees

Membership costs just £180 per month, full inclusive of utilities, rates, Wi-Fi and maintenance.

SET studios are priced bottom-up, helping us keep studios genuinely affordable and among the most accessible in London, while reinvesting fees back into our spaces.

Studio places are limited. If you’re interested in joining, please complete our membership interest form, which asks a few questions about your practice and how you would like to use the studio.

If we are confident you meet the criteria for independent membership, you will be added to our waitlist, where we draw a name at random when a space becomes available.
