29 April @ 19:00 – 21:00

Ever wanted to explore life drawing beyond the traditional “look and draw” approach?
Peckham Life Drawing offers an experience beyond just observational drawing, inviting you to engage with life drawing as a contemporary and experimental creative practice. Whether you are drawing for the pure joy of it or developing a professional folio, these sessions are built on “serious play” and a commitment to diversifying how we represent the human form.
Led by artist Luce Russell (MA RCA), the workshop is an inclusive, supportive environment where everybody (!) is more than welcome. Working with fantastic guest models, the session moves from poses so fast you won’t have time to think to longer, sustained poses that allow space for your own unique creativity. During the mid-session break, you can grab a drink and socialise, and perhaps even get into the weeds of life drawing’s role in modern art – if the mood strikes.
Drawing boards and paper are provided. No previous experience is necessary. Just bring your lovely self!

About the organiser:
Luce Russell (MA RCA) is a Peckham-based artist who has been “queering” the notion of traditional life drawing since 2017. By approaching the practice as both a noun and a verb, these sessions aim to diversify how we approach representation as a community. It is a space for “serious play,” acts of embodiment, and a genuine dialogue between paper and skin.
