Theatre Other Open Rehearsal

Join Theatre Other for an open rehearsal of their developing performance Join the Dance.
This session invites audiences into the rehearsal space to witness and respond as dance artists explore what a “dancing space” can be today. Participants are encouraged to offer honest feedback and critical reflection to help shape the development of the work. You are welcome to bring your own medium to respond live, whether that is drawing materials, writing tools, instruments, or other creative approaches.
Drawing inspiration from the phenomenon of 16th century dancing mania, Theatre Other explores how collective movement persists today, across streets, social clubs and town halls in London. The work investigates how social identities shape the ways bodies move through space, tracing patterns of movements that feel both pleasurable and disturbing.
This project is co-devised by a queer, neurodivergent collective exploring alternative approaches to collective making.

About the organiser: Theatre Other assembled through spontaneous encounters and shared curiosity in summer 2025. The group exists beyond traditional categories of “dancers” and “non-dancers”, creating nurturing environments for collective making and collaborative performance practice.
